Everybody at GWU is Winner

I'm sorry, I actually laughed as I wrote the title this blog (I love you Gdub, don't get sensitive). Everybody does in fact win at GW, but here are the people who won big last night. GW Today, GW's "Official Online News Source," highlighted alumni who won in the mid-term elections that concluded yesterday (GO Gdub!). Here they are, along with their schools and graduation years:

*D.C.'s New Mayor-Vincent Gray, B.S. ’64

No need to fix your hair Mayor Gray, GW looks good on you.

*Mary Cheh, Councilwoman for Ward 3 (GW Law School professor)
*Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.), J.D. '64
* Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), J.D. ’52

U.S. Representatives

*Jason Altmire (D-Pa.), MPHA ’98
*Eric Cantor (R-Va.), B.A. ’85
* Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.), B.A. ’63
*Jimmy Duncan (R-Tenn.), J.D. ’73

And here's a quote to get you even more excited:

“GW does such great work in the city already, but the fact that Vincent Gray is now mayor…GW will play a bigger role in moving the city forward."- Councilmember Michael Brown

Even more than I am excited about all the wins last night, I'm extremely excited about what these wins will represent for the entire GW community. This is just another example of how GW Alumni are working hard to make real contributions to the world.

George would be proud!
