Favorite Volleyball Trip

Hello All,

Since I just returned back to campus from a trip for GW volleyball to Pennsylvania (we played Duquesne yesterday afternoon), I figured I would tell you about my favorite trip that we have made this year. Last month, when we went to play Fordham University and Rhode Island in our conference, we left a day early and made a pit stop in New York City. We received a special tour of the CNN building, ate dinner, and walked around Times Square.

While in the CNN building, we saw where they filmed some of their shows, the open floors where many people have their offices, and the fantastic view of Central Park from the top floor.

Later on during the trip, on the way to Rhode Island, we stopped in Mystic Seaport, Connecticut. We walked around the small town, which is where the movie, Mystic Pizza, with Julia Roberts, supposedly takes place. Both the weather and the town were absolutely gorgeous. I stopped with a few of my teammates at a little store and got a Root Beer Float, which was a highlight for me ( I love Root Beer Floats, especially on a warm, sunny day, which is was). And then my favorite part came: my team and my coaches played a little pick-up game of softball with a wiffle ball and bat. I used to play softball and am a huge baseball fan, so I really enjoyed the little impromptu game. In case you are wondering, we players won, 3-2. What a sweet victory it was. Here is a picture of our Mystic Seaport stop:
Since one of my teammates is from Rhode Island, we went to her house for lunch while in the area. It was nice to have a delicious home cooked meal and spend some time in her home town. Here is a picture of all of us in front of her house:
As you can tell, it was an extremely fun trip!
