Student Association Elections

Campaigning period has officially begun on campus as we are overwhelmed with websites of candidates, posters with colorful images of people in suits, and introducing themselves all over campus. Voting will be held online on March 9th and 10th and election results announced the 10th at 9 PM.

Currently, there are 5 candidates running for Student Association President- far more than last year where I think there were only 2 candidates. They include:
1. Sophomore Phil Gardner, former SA senator and member of Joint Elections committee, is seeking Presidency in order to abolish the Student Association (no website)
2. Sophomore and SA outsider John Richardson http://www.jrforgw.com/
3. Sophomore Jason Kaplan, SA senator for Columbian School http://www.gwforkaplan.com/
4. Junior SA Senator Chris Clark, chair of the SA finance committee http://chrisclarkgw.com/
5. Junior former SA senator Caleb Raymond http://calebforpres.com/

It will be interesting to see what happens with it. Feel free to look up some of their campaign websites to see what they want to change at GW! Some have unreasonable goals, but some things such as adding free counseling services and free printing are realistic and feasible goals that I really hope are able to happen. It's ridiculous that we pay 9 cents per page to print on campus and can't get free counseling services like many other schools.
