A Snowy Saturday

Sorry for the delay, but my camera has not been cooperating.

This past Saturday my friend and I jumped on the metro and headed up to the zoo despite the snow falling and the temperature dropping.  I wanted to go to the zoo because it was Tai Shan, the 4 year old Panda's, goodbye celebration.

As a treaty signed by President Nixon and the Chinese, any panda that is born in the United States must be sent to China for breeding at a certain point in their lives.  This means that Tai Shan is ready to breed and is going to take a trip half way around the world. BUT he doesn't have to make it by himself.  His cousin, housed in the Atlanta zoo is flying up to DC to take the trip with him.

<--- Tai Shan was tired and wanted to sleep in the snow.

We were able to write a message to Tai Shan.

While Tai Shan was sleeping, his parents were busy inside eating.  How cute is this?? ---------->

Luckily we were able to get up to the zoo, snap a few photos before the zoo closed due to weather.

As you will soon find out, DC often shuts down in inclement weather.  I have probably said this before, but the District does not deal with snow well.  With that said, we are expecting almost 20 inches of snow this weekend, so we will just have to wait and see what happens.

While this hippo is obviously not at the zoo, it is a great statue on campus!

Remember, Early Decision II decisions will be going out very soon.  Be sure to check your email for instructions on how to check your status!

And don't forget to email me!  I love hearing from everyone!
