Freshman Feast & Martha’s Marathon!

The alliteration is deafening, no?

So here’s what that whole schpeal means:  Today, we had one of GW Class Council’s monthly Freshman Feasts, where students (not just Freshman, at least not anymore!) come to J Street Café and get a great meal at a low flat-rate.  Today was just under $6.00—for dinner!  Which is pretty darn good.  Freshman Feasts are usually themed as well.  Today’s was Mardi Gras, so along with plenty of Mardi Gras decorations, the menu was based on Cajun and New Orleans-style cooking.

February’s Freshman Feast was doubly special because of Martha’s Marathon taking place simultaneously, involving a raffle in which you could win some of the most desirable rooms on campus. Other dorm-related prizes were being given out for a rousing game of Bingo!  (And you thought that game was for old people in homes!)  On top of that, plenty of other highly sought-after rooms are auctioned off, with the proceeds going to student scholarships.  Though my friends and I got tickets, we didn’t win the raffle, and it looks like the Dakota quad we were vying after may not be in our future.  *sigh*
